Player card: Bergie
28.06.2010 - 14:03 - ![]() Player and captain of the team Dignitas, the Norwegian player has nothing to worry about its competitors. Thanks to his two recent high-level performance as his third-place at WCG2009 of ChengDu and a second place at The Gathering 2010; he is logically favorites in the tournament. In addition, each time he finished behind Swedish, notably absent from this competition and thus to every chance to take the title. Interview TM-actu : Hello Bergie. First of all, can you introduce yourself to our readers ? Bergie :Hi! My name is Fredrik Bergmann and I am known as the one and only, Bergie. I am 19 years old and I play for the worldwide known organisation called Team Dignitas. You got your ticket for the grand final with 8 invitations given by the ESWC. What do you think of this system and the final list of guests? In my opinion, handing out invitations and giving countries with no national qualifier an opportunity to participate at one of the finest eSports-competitions out there is simply a great initiative! This way they secure a high level of performance in this tournament as most of the good players will be able to participate after all, and I think it is fair for them to get this opportunity. The final list looks great and I believe the tournament will see some intense and close matches. What is your opinion about the 5 maps chosen for the competition ? The mappack for this year's Grand Finals is much better than any previous edition, without a doubt. Five maps of top class and a mixture of fast paced and more technical maps can never go wrong, and I think the fact that the ESWC organizing commitee approached players for their opinions on the maps was a clever move. This way they made sure players got a hand in the picking-process and that resulted in a mappack that I can honestly say everyone likes. What is your goal for this great event ? How have you prepared yourself ? My goal is to have a blast in Disneyland and have a date with Minnie Mouse:) Also to beat PeZi of course, if I achieve that then I am more than satisfied. Without Karjen or FrostBeule, the competition looks more open than ever. What is your pronostic ? Without FrostBeule and KarjeN you could indeed say the tournament does not have any clear favourites, however I would say Carl is the closest you come to a favourite for the tournament. Other than that the two other spots on the podium is wide open, however I think they stand between Moriah, YoYo, PeZi, Fruit, Tamarillo and Vini. All the staff wishes you a beautiful event and therefore a good stay in Paris. You have the final word of course =) Thank you for the interview, I will enjoy every single moment in Paris and I look forward to meeting the ones I have met before and also new faces:) Thanks to Team Dignitas and their sponsors: Intel, Alienware, Creative, Logitech, Antec, HMV Gamerbase, Scan, Western Digital, EA Sports, iiyama and Bigfoot Networks. Cya in Paris gays!
